IČIĆI – Beach Volleyball Courts
Reserved Training Schedule – Summer 2026
The newly renovated beach volleyball court on Ičići Beach has officially opened following extensive refurbishment works that began in February 2026 under the patronage of the City of Opatija.The modern sports facility was completed as part of preparations for an exciting sporting season, as Primorje-Gorski Kotar County proudly holds the title of the European Region of Sport 2026.In June 2026, the Opatija Beach Volleyball Club successfully hosted the Croatian Junior Club Championship on the new courts, marking the venue's first professional sporting event.
Highlights of the renovated courts
Premium playing surface – the courts have been covered with new, fine sand that meets the highest standards for professional beach volleyball.
Modern sports infrastructure – new equipment has been installed, including sturdy posts, high-quality nets and protective elements suitable for official competitions.
Excellent location – situated in the heart of Ičići Beach, right by the sea, the courts provide ideal conditions for club training sessions as well as recreational play.
Major summer events – the renovated courts will host the traditional Ičići Challenge tournament and the recreational Wild League tournaments.
The Opatija Beach Volleyball Club regularly organises training sessions and competitions on the beach volleyball courts in Ičići. The courts serve as the club's training base for all age categories and regularly host important sporting events, including national championships and traditional summer tournaments. The club ranks among Croatia's leading beach volleyball clubs, achieving outstanding results in both the men's and women's competitions at national and international level.
Training Schedule
Please find below the reserved training schedule for both courts:
There are no scheduled training sessions during weekends, as Croatian National Beach Volleyball Championships for all age categories take place throughout July and August at venues across the country.
This season, the Opatija Beach Volleyball Club has achieved excellent results:Winners of the Croatian Cup in the senior category.The senior team currently shares first place in the Croatian Club Championship after four rounds (out of a total of 14).
The junior women's team won 2nd place, while the junior men's team finished 3rd at the Croatian Junior Club Championship.The younger age categories will conclude their club season at the Croatian Championships in the second half of August.
Due to the club's training sessions and sporting activities, we kindly ask residents, visitors and guests to plan their recreational use of the courts during periods when they are not reserved for training sessions or competitions. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
